Most common skin complaints
Acne
Acne, also known as acne vulgaris, is a skin condition that manifests itself in pimples, blackheads, red bumps and sometimes inflammation. Although acne mainly appears on the face, it can also occur on the back and chest, as in the more severe form acne conglobata, which often affects young men. Although acne often starts during puberty, it can persist at any age and in both men and women.
Pimples are caused by inflammation of the sebaceous glands and hair follicles, with several processes playing a role. These include increased sebum production, a build-up of dead skin cells, and the presence of the bacteria *Cutibacterium acnes* (C. acnes), which is responsible for causing inflammation.
Skin aging
Unfortunately, skin aging cannot be prevented. It progresses faster in some people than in others, which is partly due to genetic factors that you cannot influence. However, there are also external factors that accelerate the skin aging process, and you can influence these.
You probably already know the most common causes of wrinkles due to external influences: sun exposure, smoking and stress play a major role. However, there are other factors that are less well-known. That is why I am listing them all for you and giving you tips to delay and reduce wrinkles and other signs of skin aging as long as possible. I will list it all clearly for you.
Rosacea
Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that mainly affects the face. From my own experience I know how annoying the symptoms can be: a skin that often turns red, sometimes accompanied by bumps and inflammation. Unfortunately I am not the only one, because rosacea is very common, especially in women. However, I notice that there is little awareness about the condition, and it is often wrongly confused with acne or an allergic reaction.
How exactly does rosacea develop? How can you best care for sensitive skin with rosacea? Which products should you use or not use? What is the role of nutrition, and which treatments are available? I will clearly list it all for you.
Men and skin care
Men's skin
Men's skin is fundamentally different from women's, but both sexes still require similar care. How does that work? And what do my products, which are mainly used by women, do for men? Although skin aging is inevitable, it occurs faster in some than in others. This is partly due to genetic factors that you cannot change, but there are also external influences that accelerate the skin's aging process. You can influence these factors.
You probably already know the main external causes of wrinkles: sun exposure, smoking and stress play a major role. However, there are also lesser-known factors that contribute to skin aging. That is why I am giving an overview of everything you need to know, and sharing tips to delay and reduce wrinkles and other signs of skin aging as long as possible.
